Exciting details on ‘A Taste of Africa’

Action Africa is just under three weeks away from throwing its first
fundraising event, A Taste of Africa. Members of the Action Africa

team have been working hard each day to bring together this

fundraising event, which will hopefully mark the beginning of an

annual event for Action Africa. With the event being only a few

weeks away, we wanted to share some details of A Taste of Africa,

in order to build excitement for the event, as it quickly approaches….

The Venue:
Like most events, the venue can have a large impact on the
event. Knowing this, we wanted to find a venue that was unique and memorable for our guests. We chose to hold our event at “Top of the Town” located in Rosslyn/Arlington, VA. Top of the Town is a large open reception room and outside terrace with a complete panoramic view of Washington DC, and all its historical monuments. We know that sipping a cocktail, while enjoying this amazing view, will make it an event that you will remember!

Guest Speaker:

Action Africa is excited about welcoming Charles Mann

to speak at our fundraiser. Charles Mann played in the NFL for 12 years, 10 years as a defensive end with the Washington Redskins, and one year with the San Francisco 49ers. During his NFL career, Charles Mann made over 90 sacks, earned three super bowl rings, and four consecutive pro bowl appearances. After retiring from the NFL, Charles continued to work hard and in 1995 co-founded the Good Samaritan Foundation. This non-profit foundation is dedicated to serve and educate the youth. He encourages the youth to reach for their goals by staying in school and to have faith. Ever since his last season of football, Charles Mann has worked hard to get to where he is today: a professional speaker, youth advocate, sports analyst and entrepreneur. It is safe to say that Charles Mann has succeeded both on and off the football field, and we look forward to hearing him speak.

                             Wining & Dining

One of the most important factors to any event is the cuisine and type of beverages that will be served. With this said, Action Africa has worked hard to make sure that the name of the event, “A Taste of Africa” was held up to its name, and truly introduced a real feeling of various African cultures to all of our guests. With these goals in mind, Action Africa decided to hire Main Event Catering for the evening. Working together, Main Event Catering and Action Africa have created an array of African inspired cuisine for the appetizers as well as a delicious traditional plated dinner for each guest. Wines and beer from various countries of Africa will be served throughout the evening at the bar and throughout dinner. We are very excited to offer each guest the opportunity to try various foods and drinks inspired by various cultures throughout Africa, it will truly be a Taste of Africa!

A Taste of Africa’ is a fundraising event for Action Africa on Sunday October 21st from 6pm -10pm at the Top of the Town, 1400 14th Street North Arlington, 22209. If would like any other information, or to purchase tickets, feel free to email us at anytime.
